This post is a little recap of what has been happening in Minifantasy during November.

New Patreon Goal

For a long time, we didn't have any new Patreon community goals. The reason is that I wasn't able to think of a cool reward for achieving the next goal. But I think I finally found a nice one!

As the collection is growing bigger and bigger, finding specific assets may be a daunting task, especially for a newcomer. But not only for them, every month some of the veterans here also ask "do we have X asset?" or "Someone knows where is located Y sprite?". Even for me, that I know the collection very well, I'm starting to struggle to remember where everything is xD.

To address the elephant in the room, once we reach the magic number of 100 Patrons, I will work on the creation of a much needed web-based index for Minifantasy. Once the Index is ready, you will be able to check easily if the asset you are looking for already exists in the collection or not and also where it is located.

We are not far from there ;)

Reworked Visuals For Patreon And Itch

It was something I have been wanting to do for a long time, but since it's not directly related to the assets in the collection I had it always at the bottom of my priority list. Finally, I got some time to modernise the look of the collection, and I have created new headers for both Patreon and Itch!

Also, I made new images to promote Minifantasy bundles, the Complete Bundle along with two new ones: Essentials and Expansion bundles.

Main Minifantasy Asset Pack Release

Minifantasy - Dwarven Kingdom

The main asset pack released in November bring a wide selection of useful assets to expand the underground areas of your game. Minifantasy - Dwarven Kingdom doesn't only bring a full tileset to make dwarven constructions, but also a completely new cave tileset. You can use these tilesets as stand-alone packs or combine them to create interesting and rich Moria-like environments.

The most challenging aspect of the creation process was to ensure that the assets of the Dwarven constructions were merging interestingly with the cave assets. I wanted them to feel as putting "order" in the "chaotic" nature of the cave, but without being a complete stranger to it. 

To do so I chose a very similar colour palette for both tilesets but confront them with their lines. The cave tiles are almost like white noise, as nature spaces tend to the chaos of entropy, while the surfaces of the dwarven tiles are very polished where order and orthogonal lines predominate.

I hope it works as I planned ^^

November Patreon Exclusive Content

On top of the regular monthly Minifantasy asset pack published on Itch, I always make extra and exclusive content chosen by the Minifantasy Patreon community. Anyone joining Patreon on any tier level gets instant access to the entire exclusives archive!

New Creatures

• Diablo. Archetypal horned enemy with red skin.  Idle, Walk, Melee Attack, Ranged Attack, Dmg, Die and FireballExplosion animations.
• Will-O-Wisp. Floating, Ranged Attack, Dmg, Die and ProjectileExplosion animations.

    

New Pack Features

• Tall Grass. It includes trampled grass tiles to make trails or to animate the grass when your characters walk through tall grass areas.
• Crossbow Weapon. It includes layers for Human, Elf, Orc, Goblin, Halfling and Dwarf.
• Church Indoor Tileset. It includes tiles for walls, windows, doors and floor. Props including animated candles and an organ. And a premade church sample ready to use.

New Icons

• Religions Icon set. 18 religion icons in 7 different colours
• Druid Spells Icon set. Icons for the skills of the druid character included in Minifantasy - True Heroes asset pack.

Poll Results

Minifatasy Patreon Community always suggests and votes the upcoming Main Minifantasy asset pack.

'Minifantasy - Builders' will be the next asset pack in the collection. 

This new asset pack will focus on player made constructions. Think of it as a "Crafting And Professions" asset pack but for buildings. It will contain related materials, workbenches, different construction states for walls, animations, etc.

Minifantasy -  Builders will give you the necessary assets to address the construction aspects of a traditional survival game!
